Specialties [Asian Americans]

Joyce Ng’s work with Asian Americans stands out for its creativity, emotional depth, and incisiveness. Regardless of their country of origin or number of generations in the U.S., Asian American respondents tend to open up to Joyce as if she’s an old friend or a favorite family member.

Joyce’s development of a projective technique for a multicultural healthcare study enabled us to elicit frank feedback from middle-aged Asian American women on delicate questions involving sexual practices and marital fidelity. Joyce not only recognized that Asian American women might be reluctant to discuss these topics  — she helped us address the issue head-on.
